It is one of the largest stadiums in India with 45000 capacity. Even though the stadium has good facilities and infrastructure, The stadium rarely gets opportunity to host International games. Since Uttar Pradesh has no IPL team, This ground has not even hosted a single IPL match. However this stadium is considered to be one of the important venues of Test cricket and One day international. This is the home ground for Uttar Pradesh Ranji team. This stadium is used as a multi-purpose one and hence it hosts other games along with cricket.
